Care briefings for Georgia

Georgia rules behind an online offer

An online offer says it serves Georgia. Fine—but ask which clinician will assess you and what kind of examination their plan includes.

Your location is part of the care question

Care at a distance is called telehealth; a video visit is an example. The service’s office location is not the only place that matters.

The law checked on September 28, 2026 generally required a doctor outside Georgia to hold a Georgia medical or telemedicine licence to treat someone in Georgia.

Before paying, ask who will see you and whether their authority covers care while you are in Georgia.

A first prescription needs a specific answer

Georgia’s medical board said an exam in person was generally needed before a first prescription; its advice was checked on September 28, 2026.

The board’s summary has exceptions. The detailed rules allow equipment that lets a clinician examine you at least as well as an exam in person would.

Those sources do not settle when video alone is enough for a first semaglutide prescription.

Ask the service to explain the Georgia basis for your own visit. If an in-person exam is part of that route, ask who arranges it and what it costs.

Ask for the visit route in writing

  • Does my own assessment need an exam in person?
  • Which Georgia rule supports the visit route you are offering?
  • Who arranges an in-person exam, if it is needed?
