Care briefings for Georgia

A name you can check

You have the service’s name but not the person’s. Ask for that person before treating a licence badge as an answer.

Get the person’s name and role

Ask who will make the treatment decision. Put the person’s full name beside their role and licence number in your notes. Keep the pharmacy’s name on a separate line.

Georgia’s official pages, checked September 28, 2026, direct licence questions to the boards listed below.

Match the role to its board

Doctor or physician assistant

Georgia’s Composite Medical Board has a free search showing licence status and public orders for doctors and physician assistants.

A Georgia physician assistant works with a supervising doctor whose role the medical board has approved.

A public order is a formal action the board has made public.

Nurse practitioner

Nurse licences are checked through the Georgia Board of Nursing’s licensing office; prescribing protocols are listed separately by the medical board.

A protocol is the written agreement for prescribing with a doctor.

Pharmacy or pharmacist

The Georgia State Board of Pharmacy offers a free check for a pharmacy’s or pharmacist’s current licence.

Read the result, then ask about the care

A licence record with no public action is not a judgement of how good the clinician is.

Match the name and licence number, read the status, and open any public order. If the role or record is unclear, ask the board to explain it.

The board search links are grouped on the source file page, under Georgia checks.
